Let’s face it, February can be a real drag! The cold weather is never ending, we can’t get out and we are completely over our winter wardrobes! And on top of all that, we have Valentine’s day to endure.
We focus so much on yearly resolutions and goals, but why not make it easier and break it down month by month? Here are a few of my ideas to make this February the best one yet! (Apart from last years, nothing will top finding out I was having my little girl! She’s here and it still doesn’t feel real!).
If you want to change your life for the better in just four weeks then first things first, you need an action plan. Making major improvements to yourself and your surroundings in such a short amount of time sounds a little ambitious but it’s much simpler than it sounds! I promise!
Before we get started, you need to sit yourself down with a pen and paper (preferably with an extra large Americano too!), evaluate your life and see where you need to make improvements. If there is one thing I can personally recommend, its a daily planner it will keep you on track and help measure your progress. This will shortly become your lifeline. All you need to do is break every aspect of your life into manageable chunks and you’ll see the improvements for yourself!
Start every day grateful and inspired.
We often find ourselves constantly chasing the next, rather than living in the now. Take a few minutes each morning to rule off 3 things you are grateful for, for example mine usually include my beautiful family, health, freedom and BMT, you get the idea. Anything else we gain that day is a bonus.
Dreams will remain dreams if you’re not inspired, it’s as simple as that! You need to feel motivated to achieve your goals. You can have the best intentions in the world, but you’ll fail if you’re not willing to actively stay inspired and give yourself a daily boost. For me podcasts, meditation and daily quotes work a treat!
Create the ultimate to-do list.
I’m pretty sure we’re all familiar with the never ending to-do lists by now, but do you find them effective? Sometimes we can’t achieve all of the things we hoped to do and end up a little disheartened and even more exhausted (if humanly possible!). You’ve got to be smart, you can’t just write everything down and hope you’ll magically see the end of it. If you’re like me and you’ve got big goals and big dreams then you need to break them down into manageable chunks!
Make your plan for the day and list your top to-do’s. Organise your tasks in order of importance and only include your tasks for that day – not the whole week!
And finally, I love to plan my workouts in the morning! It’s sets me up for the day. I’m focused and I’m thinking positive. It keeps me on track with my nutrition (which I have also scheduled food prepping into my to-do’s) and I am able to tackle the rest of my day without stressing if I will have enough time for me that day. “Me time” is always a priority.
I hope this helps!
